Saturn seen from its moon Titan
Saturn. Artwork of the planet Saturn, seen from the atmosphere of Titan, one of its moons. The planet's famous rings consist of orbiting dust and ice particles. The different colours of Saturn are caused by trace impurities in the atmosphere of hydrogen & helium. The planet's horizontal banding reveals the system of wind currents which flow around the planet. Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun, and is the second-largest in the solar system. Saturn is mostly composed of hydrogen and helium gas, whilst its moons are largely made of ice and rocks. Titan orbits Saturn at an average distance of 1.2 million kilometres, about three times the Moon's distance from Earth
