Skegness is So Bracing, BR (ER) poster, 1956
Poster produced for British Railways (BR) Eastern Region (ER), showing a view of the Embassy Ballroom and a funfair, at the Lincolnshire seaside resort of Skegness, with the beach and pier in the background. In the top right-hand corner is shown the famous Jolly Fisherman character, taken from the original GNR poster of 1908 by John Hassall, also entitled Skegness is So Bracing'. Blackpools New Promenades, LMS poster, 1923- 1947
Poster produced for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS), promoting express rail travel to the Lancashire seaside resort of Blackpool, showing holiday-makers strolling on the new seafront promenades, with Blackpool Tower and pier in the background. Artwork by Chesley Bonestell (1888-1986). Bonestell later became known as the father of space art, creating photorealistic paintings and contributing to the beginnings of the USA space programme in the 1940s and 1950s. Ullswater - The English Lucerne, NER poster, 1912
Poster produced for the North Eastern Railway (NER), promoting rail travel to Ullswater, Cumbria, in the Lake District, showing a series of views of Howtown Bay, Aira Force, Stybarrow Crag and the Head of Ullswater. The poster also gives a timetable of sailings made by the Royal Mail Steam Yachts of the Ullswater Navigation & Transit Co Ltd, which sailed on the lake every day except Sundays. Formed in 1854, the North Eastern Railway was incorporated into London & North Eastern Railway in 1923
