Royal Natal national park was founded in 1916. It covers over 8, 000 hectares including the Drakensberg Mountains, the highest range of mountains in South Africa. It also contains the Amphitheatre wall which is 1, 000 meters high and stretches over 5km and is site to the Worlds second highest waterfall, the Tugela Falls. The park is part of the greater World Heritage site, Drakensberg Ukhahlamba National Park
