A Royal Marine Landing Craft Air Cushioned (Light Replacement), also known as LCAC(LR), is pictured operating in the frozen environment of Norway.
This craft is operated by Royal Marines from 539 Assault Squadron based in Plymouth, Turnchaple. It is capable of carrying up to 16 Royal Marines plus their kit from ship to shore, at up to speeds of 50 Knots. It is equally adept on sea as well as ice, leaving no shore line unapproachable by the Royal Marines
