View of Fort Lovrijenac (St. Lawrence Fortress) on a steep cliff in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on a sunny day. Copy space

Fort Lovrijenac or St. Lawrence Fortress often called Dubrovnik's Gibraltar. It has a triangular shape with three levels and was defended with 10 large cannons, being the largest and most famous called "Lizard". The walls facing the sea are up to 12 meters thick, but on the eastern side of the fortress facing Dubrovnik the walls are only 60 centimetres thick. Such construction was done purposely, in case the Fort was taken by an enemy it could easily be destroyed directly from the city walls and fort Bokar.
Fort Lovrijenac doubles as the Red Keep in King?s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. Lots of the scenes are filmed at this Fort including the tournament thrown in honour of King Joffrey?s name day in season two

Delights of the Riviera - the Season at Cannes, 1926

Series of sketch vignettes by ILN special artist Bryan de Grineau visualising for readers the leisurely pursuits of smart society holidaying on the French Riviera at Cannes in the spring of 1926. Scenes include the locals high up in the citadel, gossiping in the midday sun, would-be golfers hoping to gain access to the clubs at Mougin or Mandalieu, where there is also polo. Main picture shows ladies playing miniature golf during the l'heure d'aperitif at Les Galeries Fleurie. Bottom images show how difficult it is to gain access to the Casino, but how nobody seems to care when you leave! Date: 1926
