The Illustrated London News steam printing machines
Engraving of the steam printing machines used by the weekly periodical, The Illustrated London News. There were two separate machines; one for printing one side of the paper, and the other for printing the other. These machines were powered by a six-horse power steam-engine. Each machine consisted of a great traversing table supported in an iron framework, and four cylinders, two of mahogany, two of iron. Date: 1843

Advertising flyer for an Extraordinary Exhibition at the Saville House, Leicester Square, every day from Ten o'Clock till One, and from Two till Ten. Scapiglione. The name of SCAPIGLIONE is given to him from the extraordinary HEAD OF HAIR which is Four Feet and a Half in circumference from each angle, and of the wonderful arrangement of the same. He is possessed of the most robust temperament and advantageous form of body and most proportionate; his athletic muscular and high and majestic stature; his full and fine countenance, and his decorus and elegant demeanour.
