Camp Nou (Catalan pronunciation: [?kam?n?w], meaning new field, often referred to in English as the Nou Camp)[3][4] is the home stadium of FC Barcelona since its completion in 1957.
With a seating capacity of 99, 354, [5] it is the largest stadium in Spain and Europe, and the third largest football stadium in the world in capacity. Two women in tin helmets photographed as they prepare for a show at the Windmill Theatre. The Windmill Theatre, which today uses the motto "we never closed", had just reopened after its only compulsory state-enforced closure between 4th-16th September 1939. The Sphere comments on the "topical" nature of the performance the women were preparing for which featured tin hats and gas masks. Date: September 1939

Janet Hogarth speaking at an Encyclopedia Britannica dinner held to celebrate the contribution of women to the recent completion of the eleventh edition. Janet Hogarth was head of the female staff and made her speech, detaling the history of female involvement in the Encyclopedia Britannica, in response to a toast to "the work of women". The title of the image "the female of man: see homo" is a reference to the definition of "woman" in the first edition of the Encyclopedia.
