German Crown Princess at Assouan, Egypt

The Crown Princess of Germany (Cecilie of Mecklenberg-Schwerin) pictured leaving the German Church at Assouan (Aswan), Egypt in 1911. Accompanying her is Friedfrau von Tiel-Winkler, a member of the royal suite. Note the sign in the background advertising a shop that develops Kodak film, indicative of the huge tourist industry in Egypt during this period. Date: 1911
