Tommys first GP ride

"This was the 1957 UGP, my first ever Grand Prix race. I was very pleased that day to finish third in the 250cc class on Terry Hill's NSU, behind winner Cecil Sandford (Mondial) and second placeman Dave Chadwick on a works MV. It was a dull day but probably good racing conditions. This was the start of my road to the Grand Prix circuts of the world. The following year (1958) was my first ever TT, also on the NSU, where I finished eighth." Tommy Robb

Triumph Travelling Marshal

The first Triumph used for TM duty was thie 650 Thunderbird used by Peter Crebbin in 1950. It was ridden sans silencers, so the marshals could hear it approaching. It still featured its tax disc and the tyre pump fitted to the chainguard
