Brown Noddy Collection

The Brown Noddy (Anous stolidus) is a species of seabird from the Charadriiformes family, and is found in tropical and subtropical regions of the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. The bird has a brownish-grey body with white underparts, and its head is darker than its body. Its wings are long and pointed, and it has a short tail. The Brown Noddy feeds mainly on small fish, crustaceans, mollusks, jellyfish and plankton which it finds while flying over the ocean surface or diving into the water. It nests in colonies on coral islands or rocky ledges near shorelines where they lay one egg at a time during breeding season, and are highly social birds that often flock together in large groups to feed or migrate to other areas when food becomes scarce.
