Noisy Friarbird Collection

The Noisy Friarbird is a species of honeyeater bird belonging to the Passerines family, and is native to Australia and New Guinea, where it can be found in open woodlands, savannas, and grasslands. This species has a distinctive black head with white stripes on its back and wings. Its call is loud and raucous, hence its name. It feeds mainly on nectar from flowers but will also take insects as well as fruits such as figs. The Noisy Friarbird builds an open cup nest in trees or shrubs which are lined with soft materials such as feathers or fur from other animals, and are social birds that form flocks of up to 30 individuals during the breeding season when they become more vocal than usual. As their population continues to decline due to habitat destruction, conservation efforts must be made in order to protect this species for future generations.
