Java Sparrow Collection

The Java Sparrow, also known as the Java Rice Bird or Java Finch, is a species of waxbill Passerines bird native to Indonesia, and is a small bird with a bright pink beak and black eyes. The body is grayish-brown in color with white spots on the wings and tail feathers. The male has an orange-red face and throat while the female has a yellow face and throat. They feed mainly on grass seeds, but will also eat insects, fruits, and vegetables, and are social birds that live in flocks of up to 30 individuals in open areas such as grasslands or rice paddies, and are popular cage birds due to their attractive appearance and peaceful nature; however they can become aggressive if kept in too small of an enclosure or overcrowded conditions.
