Olive Whistler Collection

Olive Whistler is a species of passerine bird found in Australia and New Guinea, and is a medium-sized songbird with olive-green upperparts, white underparts, and yellowish legs, distinctive call which is described as a loud whistling sound. This species can be found in open woodlands, scrubland, grasslands and urban parks, and are omnivorous birds that feed on insects, fruit and seeds. The Olive Whistler builds its nest in trees or shrubs near water sources such as rivers or lakes. Breeding season occurs from August to October when the female lays two to four eggs which are incubated for around two weeks before hatching. These birds are not considered threatened but their numbers have declined due to habitat loss and fragmentation caused by human activities such as logging and land clearing for agriculture.
