Little Collection

Little Penguins are the smallest species of penguin in the world, standing at just 13 inches tall, and are native to Australia and New Zealand, where they inhabit rocky shorelines and islands. Little Penguins have a black head and back with white underparts, a blue-grey bill, and pink webbed feet. They feed on small fish such as anchovies or sardines which they catch while swimming underwater. During breeding season, Little Penguins form large colonies on shorelines where they build nests made of sticks and grasses. After laying two eggs each season, both parents take turns incubating them until hatching occurs after around 35 days. The chicks then remain in the nest for another month before venturing out into the ocean to start their own lives as adults. Little Penguins are an iconic species that play an important role in their ecosystems by helping to keep fish populations healthy through predation.
