Audubons Shearwater Collection

Audubon's Shearwater is a seabird species found in the Atlantic Ocean, and is a medium-sized bird, with a wingspan of up to 50 inches and weighing between 8 and 12 ounces. The upper parts of its body are dark brown, while its underparts are white. Its head is black with a white patch on the forehead, and it has yellow legs and feet. Audubon's Shearwater feeds mainly on fish, squid, crustaceans, jellyfish, and plankton that it catches by diving from the surface of the ocean into deeper waters. It nests in colonies on rocky islands or cliffs along the coastlines of North America. This species is listed as Near Threatened by IUCN due to threats such as habitat destruction from human activities like fishing nets entanglement or oil spills.
