Guanaco Collection

Guanaco (Lama guanicoe) are native to South America, and are closely related to the llama, alpaca, and vicuña. Guanacos have a long neck and legs, a short tail, and a thick coat of brown or gray fur that helps them survive in cold climates and can weigh up to 200 pounds and stand up to 5 feet tall at the shoulder, and are social animals that live in herds of up to 30 individuals led by an alpha male. They feed on grasses, shrubs, cacti, lichens, mosses and other vegetation found in their natural habitat of high-altitude grasslands and scrublands. Guanacos also have excellent eyesight which helps them spot predators from far away distances. Their meat is considered a delicacy in some parts of South America while their wool is used for making clothing items such as sweaters or blankets.
