School of scalefin anthia fish (Pseudanthias squamipinnis), Fiji
Anthias are members of the family Serranidae (basses, basslets, groupers) and make up the subfamily Anthiadinae. Anthias make up a sizeable portion of the population of pink, orange, and yellow reef fishes seen swarming in most coral reef photography and film. Anthias are mostly small, thus are quite popular within the ornamental fish trade. They form complex social structures based on the number of males and females and also their position on the reef itself, and are mainly zooplankton feeders. They occur in all tropical oceans and seas of the world

Black coral tree (Antipathes sp.) with Fairy basslets (Pseudanthias squamipinnis)
Black coral tree (Antipathes sp.) with Fairy basslets (Pseudanthias?squamipinnis), A large bushy black coral tree in a depth of about 40 m on a reef slope. Unlike hard corals, calcium carbonate is not present in the skeleton. Instead, the internal axis is composed of a tough dark protein called horn. Black corals are usually found on deeper parts of reefs and on vertical walls. Anilao, Manila, Philippines
