Stranded whale at Berckhey, 1598, A whale 70 feet long, stranded on the Dutch sea coast, between Schevelingen and Katwyk, in Sprokkelmaandt, 1598 (title on object), northern kaeper / Balena / Chasse l'eau (title on object), 2 February 1598. On the beach at Berckhey, between Scheveningen and Katwijk is a large sperm whale washed up. In the foreground a few horsemen, behind the animal people and cars on the beach. Copy after the original by Jacob Matham. Numbered top right by hand: 2. Print pasted into the sixth album with drawings of fish, shells and insects.
