Tiger Swallowtail Collection

The Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is a beautiful species of butterfly found in North America and has a wingspan of between 2.75 and 4.5 inches and is easily identifiable by its yellow and black stripes, which resemble those of a tiger. The underside of the wings are usually brown or gray with yellow spots and streaks, while the upper side is mostly yellow with black stripes along the edges. The adult butterflies feed on nectar from flowers, while their larvae feed on leaves from trees such as cherry, ash, birch, willow and tulip poplar trees and are known to migrate long distances during certain times of year in order to find food sources or suitable breeding grounds for their young and can be found throughout much of North America during springtime when they come out to mate before heading south for winter hibernation.
