Frontalis Collection

Frontalis is a genus of acrobatid mammals in the family Acrobatidae, and are found in Central and South America, from Mexico to Brazil and can small animals, ranging in size from 8-12 cm long and weighing between 10-20 g. They have short legs and a long tail, with fur that is usually gray or brownish-gray on their backs and white on their bellies. Their ears are large and round, and they have a distinctive black stripe running down the center of their face from nose to forehead. Frontalis feed mainly on insects but will also eat fruit when available. They live in hollow trees or burrows dug into the ground, where they sleep during the day before emerging at night to forage for food.
