Damaliscus topi Collection

Damaliscus topi is a species of antelope in the Bovidae family, and is found in open grasslands and savannas across much of Africa, from Senegal to Ethiopia and has a reddish-brown coat with white patches on its face, neck, and flanks. The males have long horns that curve backwards towards their head, and are gregarious animals and form herds of up to 500 individuals during the wet season when food is plentiful. During the dry season they break into smaller groups or even solitary individuals in search of food and water. Damaliscus topi feed mainly on grasses but also eat leaves, fruits, buds, flowers, bark and roots when available, and are active during the day but can be seen at night if disturbed by predators or humans, and are hunted for their meat which is considered a delicacy by some cultures as well as for their horns which are used for decoration or medicinal purposes.
