Thomasi Collection

Thomasi are small, nocturnal mammals belonging to the Cheirogaleidae family, and are native to Madagascar and can be found in the dry deciduous forests of the island. They have a distinctive appearance, with a long tail and large ears that help them detect predators in the dark. They also have thick fur which helps keep them warm at night. Thomasi feed mainly on insects, but they will also eat fruits and flowers when available. They live in small groups of up to six individuals, with one dominant male leading the group and can an important part of Madagascar's ecosystem as they help disperse seeds from fruits they eat throughout their habitat. Their populations are threatened by deforestation and hunting for their fur, so conservation efforts must be taken to ensure their survival in the wild.
