European Water Vole Collection

The European Water Vole (Arvicola amphibius) is a species of mammal in the family Cricetidae, and is found throughout Europe, from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean region, and as far east as western Russia. It lives in wetland habitats such as marshes, streams, rivers and ponds. The water vole has a stout body with short legs and a blunt muzzle. Its fur is usually dark brown or blackish-brown on top with lighter underparts.
