Obscurus Collection

Obscurus are small rodents that belong to the family Cricetidae, and are found in Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia. They have short tails and rounded ears with a light brown or grayish-brown fur. They feed mainly on seeds, nuts, fruits, and insects. Obscurus live in burrows or tunnels underground where they can hide from predators, and are active during the day but can be seen foraging at night as well. Obscurus reproduce quickly and can have up to four litters per year with five to seven young per litter. The lifespan of an Obscurus is usually around two years but some may live up to three years in captivity. These animals are important for their role in controlling insect populations as well as providing food sources for other animals such as birds of prey and foxes.
