Pulchellus Collection

Pulchellus is a genus of didelphid marsupials, commonly known as mouse opossums. These small mammals are found in Central and South America, ranging from Mexico to Argentina. They have long tails and short legs, with fur that is typically gray or brown in color. Pulchellus species vary in size from 5 to 9 inches long, and are omnivorous animals, feeding on insects, fruits, and other small creatures. During the day they hide in hollow logs or dense vegetation for protection from predators such as hawks and cats. At night they emerge to search for food and mates. Pulchellus species are solitary animals but will form temporary social groups during mating season or when food is plentiful and can live up to three years in the wild but may live longer if kept as pets in captivity.
