Groundhog Collection

Groundhogs, also known as woodchucks, are a type of rodent that belong to the family Sciuridae, and are found throughout North America and parts of Europe and Asia. Groundhogs have short legs and a stocky body with a short tail. They range in size from 16-27 inches long and weigh between 4-15 pounds. Their fur is usually brown or grayish in color with lighter underparts, and are herbivores that feed on grasses, fruits, nuts, insects, and other vegetation. During the winter months they hibernate underground in burrows they have dug out for themselves. In February each year groundhogs emerge from their burrows to check for signs of spring; if they see their shadow it is said to mean six more weeks of winter weather.
