Impala Collection

Impala are medium-sized antelopes found in eastern and southern Africa. They have a reddish-brown coat with white underparts and a black stripe down the middle of their back. Their horns are lyre-shaped and can reach up to 45 cm in length, and are very agile animals, able to jump up to 3 meters high and 10 meters long. They live in herds of up to 200 individuals, which consist of one dominant male, several females, and their young. Impalas feed on grasses, leaves, fruits, flowers, shrubs and bark from trees. They also drink water from pools or streams when available. Predators include lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas; however they can outrun most predators due to their speed and agility and can an important species for African ecosystems as they help maintain vegetation by grazing on grasses as well as providing food for predators such as lions or cheetahs who would otherwise struggle to find prey in the wilds of Africa
