Eastern Grey Kangaroo Collection

The Eastern Grey Kangaroo (Macropus giganteus) is a large species of macropodid marsupial found in eastern and southern Australia. These animals are the largest living marsupials, with males reaching up to 2 meters in height and weighing up to 90 kilograms. They have thick gray fur that is lighter on their bellies, long powerful hind legs for hopping, and short forelimbs with five digits ending in sharp claws, and are mainly active at night, grazing on grasses and herbs as well as browsing shrubs for food. They live in mobs of up to 50 individuals which can be seen grazing together during the day or resting under trees during the heat of the day. During breeding season males fight each other for access to females using their powerful hind legs and sharp claws. The female gives birth to a single young after a gestation period of 30-36 days before carrying it around in her pouch until it is old enough to survive outside it.
