Americanum Collection

Americanum is a species of Mammutidae, an extinct family of mammals from the Pleistocene epoch. They were large animals, reaching up to 4 meters in height and weighing up to 8 tons, the most common species in North America during its time, living in both temperate and cold climates. It had a thick coat of fur that kept it warm during the winter months and allowed it to survive in colder climates than other Mammutidae species. Its diet consisted mainly of vegetation such as grasses, shrubs and trees, an important part of many ecosystems due to its size and ability to eat large amounts of vegetation which helped keep them healthy. They eventually went extinct due to climate change and hunting by humans which caused their population numbers to decline drastically over time.
