Beluga Collection

Beluga whales, also known as white whales, are large marine mammals belonging to the Monodontidae family, and are found in Arctic and sub-Arctic waters and can grow up to 15 feet long and weigh up to 3,500 pounds. Belugas have a distinctive white coloration that is unique among cetaceans. They also have a flexible neck which allows them to turn their heads in all directions. Belugas feed on fish, squid, and crustaceans. They use echolocation to find food and communicate with each other underwater. Belugas live in pods of up to 10 individuals but may form larger groups during migration or when feeding on schools of fish. Their population has been declining due to hunting, pollution, climate change and habitat loss; however conservation efforts are helping protect this species from further decline.
