The Evening Bat (Vespertilionidae) is a small mammal belonging to the family of Vespertilionidae, and is found in North America, Central America and parts of South America, wingspan of up to 8 inches and weighs between 0.3 and 0.5 ounces. Its fur is usually brown or gray with white tips on its ears, face, and wings. This species feeds mainly on flying insects such as moths, beetles, flies and mosquitoes that it captures in flight using its large ears to locate prey by sound. It roosts during the day in trees or buildings but can also be seen hunting at dusk when it emerges from its roosts to feed on insects attracted by lights at nightfall.
