EDITORS COMMENTS
In this iconic photograph, Kolo Toure celebrates scoring Arsenal's second goal against Liverpool during an FA Premier League match at Emirates Stadium on 12th November 2006. The Ivorian defender, who spent eight successful years at Arsenal between 2002 and 2010, netted a crucial goal in a dominant performance against their arch-rivals, helping the Gunners secure a 3-0 victory. Toure's goal came in the 36th minute, following a corner kick that was met by the head of Emmanuel Adebayor, only for Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina to parry the ball into the path of the defender. With composure and determination, Toure pounced on the opportunity, powerfully heading the ball into the back of the net. The goal was a testament to Toure's versatility and ability to contribute to Arsenal's attack, as well as his defensive prowess. It also highlighted the team's dominance over Liverpool during this period, with Arsenal winning five consecutive league games against them between 2005 and 2007. This photograph captures the excitement and passion of the moment, with Toure's jubilant celebration encapsulating the pride and joy felt by Arsenal fans as their team continued their impressive run in the league. The image serves as a reminder of the legendary moments and players that have graced the Emirates Stadium pitch, with Toure's goal against Liverpool being a standout memory for many.
