Robert Graves Collection

Robert Graves (1895-1985) was a British poet, novelist, and classical scholar. He is best known for his historical novel I, Claudius and his autobiographical work Goodbye to All That. His poetry collections include Fairies and Fusiliers (1917), Over the Brazier (1916), and The Feather Bed (1918). He also wrote several books on mythology, including The Greek Myths (1955) and The White Goddess: A Historical Grammar of Poetic Myth (1948). He was awarded the Order of Merit in 1976 for his literary achievements. His works have been translated into many languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch and Japanese. Graves' writing style is characterized by its vivid imagery and lyrical language. His works often explore themes of love, death and war with a strong sense of irony.
