Louis Loeb Collection

Louis Loeb was an American artist who was born in New York City in 1887. He studied at the National Academy of Design, the Art Students League of New York, and the Académie Julian in Paris. Throughout his career he worked as a painter, illustrator, muralist and teacher. His works were exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and other galleries throughout America. He is best known for his portraits of prominent figures such as President Woodrow Wilson and General John Pershing. His paintings are characterized by their vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes which capture a sense of movement within each piece. Loeb's work has been featured in numerous publications including The Saturday Evening Post, Collier's Magazine, Life Magazine and Harper's Bazaar. He passed away in 1969 leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of artists today.
