Jean-Baptiste Raguenet (1715-1793) was a French painter and engraver, best known for his views of Paris. He was born in Paris, and studied under the landscape painter Claude Joseph Vernet. His works were highly praised by critics, including Denis Diderot who described him as an artist with "a great deal of taste". Raguenet's most famous works are his views of the city of Paris, which he painted from 1750 to 1790. These paintings depict the city in its various stages of development during this period. He also produced many prints and drawings that depict scenes from everyday life in 18th century France.
