Elephanta Caves Collection

The Elephanta Caves are a network of ancient rock-cut temples located on Elephanta Island in Mumbai, India. The caves were carved out of solid basalt rock during the 5th to 8th centuries CE and are dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The main cave is a large hall with several intricately carved sculptures depicting scenes from Hindu mythology, including depictions of Shiva as Nataraja (the Lord of Dance) and Ardhanarishvara (the Lord who is half man and half woman).
