A Blast From The Past: Leicester City's 1960-61 Squad This iconic photograph captures the essence of Leicester City's squad during their memorable 1960-61 season. Taken on August 9, 1960, at a photocall event, this image features all the key players who would go on to make significant contributions to the team that year. In the back row (left to right), we see Tony Knapp, John King, George Heyes, Ken Keyworth - one of Leicester's most prolific goal-scorers during his time at Filbert Street -, Gordon Banks and Len Chalmers. Derek Hines rounds out this talented group of players who would form a formidable unit under the guidance of Manager Matt Gillies. The middle row is comprised of Colin Appleton, Howard Riley, Albert Cheesebrough - another key player from that season -, Ken Leek, Jimmy Walsh, Gordon Wills and A Dowdells (the team's trainer). This group was instrumental in helping Leicester City achieve a respectable finish to the 1960-61 campaign. In the front row are Ian White and Richard Norman. Together with their teammates behind them, they formed an impressive squad that would make fans proud throughout the season.
