Spoonbills Cushion Collection

Spoonbills are a group of wading birds that belong to the family Threskiornithidae, and are found in wetlands across the world, including parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. They have long legs and a distinctive spoon-shaped bill which they use to filter food from the water. They feed mainly on small fish, crustaceans and aquatic insects. Spoonbills come in a variety of colors including white, grey and pinkish-brown. They have long wingspans ranging from 1-2 meters wide and can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h during flight. These birds form large colonies during breeding season where they build nests made out of sticks near shallow waters or marshes. The female lays 2-4 eggs which both parents take turns incubating for about 25 days before hatching occurs and can considered vulnerable due to habitat destruction caused by human activities such as draining wetlands for agricultural development or urbanization projects. Conservation efforts are being made to protect these beautiful birds so that future generations can enjoy them in their natural habitats.
