The Greek Parliament consists of 300 members elected by popular vote for four-year terms. The current Prime Minister is Kyriakos Mitsotakis who was elected in 2019. Greece has had an active role in European politics, with its participation in international organizations such as NATO, OECD and Council of Europe. Additionally, it has been actively involved in peacekeeping operations around the world and contributes to international development aid programs through its membership within the EU's Development Cooperation Instrument (DCI).
