St Osyth Collection

St Osyth is a small village located in Essex, England and is situated on the estuary of the River Colne and has a population of around 2,500 people. The village was first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 and has been inhabited since at least Saxon times. St Osyth Priory was founded in 1119 by Robert Fitzwalter and became an important religious centre for centuries. The priory was dissolved during the Reformation but some of its buildings remain today as part of St Osyth's historic landscape.
