Hammersmith Bridge Collection

Hammersmith Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the River Thames in London, England. It was designed by civil engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette and opened in 1887. The bridge has a total length of 809 feet and consists of two main spans with an additional span on the northern side. The main spans are constructed from wrought iron lattice girders with cast iron towers at each end, and is one of only two suspension bridges over the Thames in London, and it carries both pedestrians and motor vehicles across the river. The bridge has been designated as a Grade II listed structure since 1973 due to its historical significance as an important part of London's transport infrastructure.
