Duns Collection

Duns is a small town located in the Scottish Borders region of Scotland, United Kingdom and has a population of around 2,000 people and is situated in the valley of the River Whiteadder. The town was founded by Cistercian monks in 1150 and was granted a Royal Charter by King Robert I in 1320. Duns is known for its historic buildings such as Duns Castle, which dates back to the 15th century, and St Mary's Church which dates back to 1242. The town also has an interesting history with links to both Mary Queen of Scots and John Knox. Today Duns remains an attractive market town with many independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as several annual festivals including the Border Union Show which takes place every July.
