St Asaph Collection

St Asaph is a small city located in Denbighshire, Wales, and is the second smallest city in Wales and the third smallest in the United Kingdom. A population of around 3,400 people and is situated on the River Elwy. The city has a long history dating back to at least 6th century AD when it was founded by Saint Kentigern (also known as Saint Asaph). The city was granted its charter as a borough in 1284 and later became a cathedral city when it was granted its charter as an Episcopal See in 1541. St Asaph has many historic buildings including St Kentigern's Church which dates back to 1180, and the Grade I listed Bishop's Palace which dates from 1620. The town also boasts two museums; one dedicated to local history and another dedicated to military history. Today, St Asaph remains an important centre for religious life with several churches throughout the town offering regular services for both locals and visitors alike.
