She acts as decoy for pickpockets, perverts and others who inhabit the 237 miles of subway track to prevent crime in the dark tunnels. Her "back-up" partner is in the next car, should she need assistance. There are 3, 100 transit police, 2, 600 of them in uniform and the rest of them detectives and officers.
