EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the awe-inspiring beauty of Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland, Canada. The image captures the billion-year-old rock formations of the Long Range Mountains as they tower above Western Brook Pond, creating dramatic and steep cliffs that seem to touch the sky. Gros Morne National Park is a renowned world heritage site, encompassing an expansive area of 1,805 km2 on the west coast of Newfoundland. It is the second largest national park in Atlantic Canada, surpassed only by Torngat Mountains National Park. The park derives its name from Newfoundlands's second-highest peak, which stands at an impressive 806 meters within its boundaries. The French translation of Gros Morne perfectly describes this majestic landscape - "large mountain standing alone" or "great sombre". As a member of the Long Range Mountains range, an outlying extension of the Appalachian Mountains stretching along Newfoundland's western coast, it offers breathtaking vistas throughout its length. In this particular photograph captured by Danita Delimont for Fine Art Storehouse, nature takes center stage with no human presence. The horizontal composition allows viewers to fully immerse themselves in this non-urban scene surrounded by clouds and untouched wilderness. This stunning landscape print serves as a reminder of Earth's ancient history and its enduring natural wonders found within Gros Morne National Park.
