The Geisha kneeling appears to be tending to Marigolds.Utagawa Toyokuni (1769, Edo - February 24, 1825, Edo) was born as the son of a puppet maker.He learned printmaking as a student of Toyoharu. At the beginning of his career he concentrated on bijin-ga - images of beautiful women. This image is from the 36 views with Meiko (Geisha girls) and is number 34 in the series published by Tstutaya Kichizo.This print forms part of my personal collection.
