Abraham van Diepenbeeck was a talented Flemish artist who lived from 1596 to 1675. He is known for his exquisite paintings and drawings, showcasing his exceptional skill and attention to detail. One of his notable works is "The Martyrs of Gorchum, " created in collaboration with Francois Collignon in 1630-87. This painting depicts the tragic fate of a group of Protestant martyrs during the Dutch Revolt. Another masterpiece by Van Diepenbeeck is "The Blessed Henry Suso Kneeling before Eternal Wisdom, " which he painted before 1650. This artwork portrays the spiritual devotion and humility of Saint Henry Suso as he seeks wisdom from above.
