Boy George (singer - born George Alan O'Dowd) arrives in Newcastle, in June 1983.
At the time, Boy George's band Culture Club had released their 1982 Top 5 in the UK album "Kissing To Be Clever" with it's hit single Time (Clock of the Heart), and also the single Church of the Poison Mind which would appear on the bands 1983 No 1 album "Colour By Numbers".
George is carrying a doll replica of himself, that he was often seen with in this 1983 period of his career. It is not clear if Boy George is on tour or visiting Newcastle for other promotional reasons.
