John Lennon of the Beatles. On 1 August the band made what was by now one of their infrequent TV appearances. It was another trip back to the seaside to appear in Blackpool Night Out which was hosted by Mike and Bernie Winters with other guests that included Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson (the poor man's Mickey and Griff) and dancer Lionel Blair. It was most notable for Paul's appearance singing Yesterday all by himself - the first solo appearance by a Beatle. These photographs were all taken at the rehearsal the previous day. 1965
