Carpentry Workshop at St Pancras Schools, Leavesden, Hertfor

Boys saw and plane wood in the carpentry workshop at the St Pancras Schools at Leavesden In Hertfordshire. The schools were opened in by the St Pancras Board of Guardians to house pauper children away from the workhouse. As well as classrooms and dormitories, the schools had their own laundry, infirmary, and swimming baths. Date: 1893

Chase Farm Schools, Enfield, Middlesex

The main building of the Chase Farm Schools in Enfield, Middlesex, opened in 1886 by the Edmonton Union to house pauper children away from the workhouse. As well as dormitories and classrooms, the site contained workshops, a swimming pool, laundry, bakery, and infirmary
